Philip Clieve  is a British tenor from Lancashire. He is a graduate of the prestigious National Opera Studio and was a Young Artist at Longborough Festival Opera.

Philip has performed with many of the country’s leading opera companies, including Opera North, English National Opera, Glyndebourne, Grange Park Opera and Welsh National Opera.

2023 was a year of firsts for Philip: his first Cavaradossi (Tosca) with Opera Loki in France, his first Don Jose (Carmen) for Longborough Festival Opera, his first title rôle in Hugh the Drover for the London Opera Group and his first Ferrando (Così fan tutte) for Regents Opera.  He was also a finalist in the Mastersingers Carole Rees Awards.

Philip is equally at home on the concert platform and has an extensive repertoire of oratorio performances under his belt, most recently Ethel Smythe’s Mass in D for Lytham, Blackpool and Preston choral society.

Alongside his singing commitments Philip is currently discerning for the Catholic priesthood.
