Henry Waddington studied at the Royal Northern College of Music and is now one of the UK’s most sought-after bass-baritones.  He performs regularly with many of the UK and Europe’s major opera houses including the Glyndebourne Festival, Royal Opera House, Dutch National Opera, La Monnaie de Munt, Brussels, Gran Teatre del Liceu, Barcelona, Teatro Real Madrid, Welsh National Opera, English National Opera, Garsington Opera, Opéra Comique, Glyndebourne on Tour and Grange Park Opera.

Recent and future engagements include: Man at Window/Old Man/Youth/Beggar (Julietta), Jupiter (Castor and Pollux), Sacristan (Tosca), Lieutenant Ratcliffe (Billy Budd) for English National Opera, Spinellocchio (Gianni Schicchi) and Dr Kolenaty (The Makropolous Case) for The Royal House, Covent Garden, Baron Ochs (Der Rosenkavalier) for Norwegian National Opera, Opera North and Staatstheater Nürnberg, Bartolo (Le nozze di Figaro) for Glyndebourne on Tour and Welsh National Opera, Lieutenant Ratcliffe (Billy Budd) for Dutch National Opera, Pallante (Agrippina) for Gran Teatre del Liceu,  Kothner (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg) for Glyndebourne Festival, Swallow (Peter Grimes) for Aldeburgh Festival, Alcindoro/Benoît (La bohème) at the Royal Albert Hall, Pastor Oberlin (Jakob Lenz) for Oper Stuttgart and La Monnaie de Munt, and concert performances of Wozzeck with the Philharmonia Orchestra under Esa-Pekke Salonen.
